Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage that Open World uses, what each one is for, and how you control them. It complements our Privacy Policy. The word "cookies" here also covers equivalent technologies such as localStorage, which we use for a small number of preferences.

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These make the Service work and cannot be switched off. A session cookie identifies your signed-in session so that you do not have to log in on every page; it is set only after you sign in, and signing out clears it. A CSRF token cookie accompanies form submissions and authentication callbacks so that another site cannot make requests on your behalf. A short-lived cookie may also be used during the sign-in flow to carry the state of a Google OAuth redirect. These cookies are set by Open World, are HTTP-only and secure where the browser supports it, and expire when the session ends or shortly afterwards. Because they are essential to a service you asked for, we do not need consent for them and there is no way to refuse them and still stay signed in.

2. Preference storage

Two small preferences are remembered in your browser so the site behaves the way you left it. Your interface language is stored so that the site opens in the locale you chose, and your cookie choice is stored under the key ow-cookie-consent in localStorage with the value accepted or rejected, so that the consent banner does not reappear on every visit. Both stay in your browser, are readable only by this site, and are never sent to a third party. Clearing your browser storage removes them, and the banner will ask again.

3. Analytics and error monitoring

We use Sentry to record application errors and basic performance measurements so that we can find and fix problems. The parts of it that rely on non-essential browser storage — for example correlating several errors into a single session so we can reproduce a bug — load only after you accept cookies. If you reject, we still receive server-side error reports, which do not use cookies and do not rely on anything stored in your browser.

We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run third-party ad or social media trackers, we do not fingerprint your device to identify you across sites, and we do not sell or share any of this information.

4. Your choice

The first time you visit, a banner asks whether to allow non-essential cookies. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary and preference storage described above is loaded until you accept. Choosing "Reject" records that preference and leaves everything non-essential switched off; the Service works normally either way. To change your mind, clear the site data for this domain in your browser settings — the banner will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent you from signing back in.

5. Cookies set by other sites

When you follow a link from a search result to a third-party website, that site may set its own cookies. We have no control over them; they are covered by that site's own cookie policy. Payment pages are hosted by our cryptocurrency payment provider, NOWPayments, which sets its own strictly necessary cookies while you complete a checkout.

6. Changes and contact
